In view of the impact of intensive exploitation of fishery resources in protected areas, fisheries management measures have been introduced by the Ministry of Fisheries and Fishery Resources, in collaboration with WCS. These involve granting priority access rights to local fishermen, for the exploitation of fishery resources and community surveillance of the areas concerned.

The FANONGA project - ADRA Madagascar

The FANONGA project - which means progress - aims to improve food security and risk and disaster management, in order to increase resilience in the Atsimo Andrefana region.

It aims to strengthen the population's resilience to natural disasters and the effects of climate change, by implementing sustainable measures to increase food security and improve disaster preparedness.

20 years of Réseau SOA

Réseau SOA was born of the desire of farmers' leaders to set up a trade union structure in Madagascar, and aims to bring farmers' voices to the heart of agricultural policy. Réseau SOA is a farmers' umbrella organization created in 2003. This year it celebrates its 20th anniversary.

The TAFITA project - AFAFI Centre Program 

Support for secure land tenure and local governance. The Tafita project, which is part of the AFAFI Centre program, aims to contribute to achieving this objective, with 60,000 land certificates.

The AFAFI Centre program aims to sustainably improve rural household incomes, while taking into account the importance of preserving the environment in Antananarivo's peri-urban areas.This is achieved through support for decentralized land management, the revival of local taxation, and the development of communal development schemes.
